Prescription Treatment for Insomnia
Reviewed by a UK prescriber. No appointment needed.
The problem
Insomnia doesn’t stay in the bedroom.
- Your relationships: A short fuse with the people who least deserve it.
- Your work: Foggy, second-guessing, getting through instead of getting on.
- Your nights: You dread bed before the sun’s even down.
- Your body: Running on empty, and never getting the chance to reset.
Started around menopause? You’re not imagining it: broken sleep is common in perimenopause and menopause. Seona treats the insomnia.
3 months+
If sleep has been like this for three months or more, it isn’t a phase and it isn’t a character flaw. It’s chronic insomnia: a medical condition, and one that can be treated.
Is it insomnia?
Three things doctors look for before they call it chronic insomnia.
Everyone has bad nights. Chronic insomnia has a definition, and a prescriber checks you against it before anything else. All three need to be true:
- Most nights. Trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early, on three or more nights a week.
- For months. It has been going on for three months or more, not just a rough patch.
- Worse days. Tiredness, low mood, poor concentration, or getting less done, and the nights are the reason.
A few weeks, after a change
Illness, a new baby, a move, a stressful spell at work. That is short-term insomnia. It often settles once the cause does, and it is not what Seona treats.
Three months or more
By then the nights have usually taken on a life of their own, whatever started them. That is chronic insomnia, and it is a condition with a treatment path.

Who we can help
Adults in the UK whose sleep has been broken for three months or more.
That is the whole list. Everything else the eligibility check asks is there so a prescriber can be sure the treatment is safe for you. A few answers mean someone else is better placed to help, and the check says who.
If it turns you away, nothing is charged and no account is made.
Where to go instead
Under 18
Your GP. The treatment is licensed for adults only.
Pregnant or breastfeeding
Your midwife or GP. The treatment is not recommended in pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Outside the UK
A prescriber where you live. We can only prescribe and deliver within the UK.
Narcolepsy, or a body clock on a different schedule
Your GP or a sleep clinic. Shift work and a delayed body clock are treated differently from insomnia.
Loud snoring, gasping or choking in your sleep
Tell us in the check. That can be sleep apnoea; a prescriber looks at it case by case, and untreated apnoea usually needs its own assessment first.
Thoughts of harming yourself
Not a sleep assessment. Call 999 in an emergency, Samaritans on 116 123 at any hour, or NHS 111.
What it costs
Bad sleep is the cost. Better nights are the investment.
You’ve been paying for insomnia for months: in patience, in focus, in waking up already drained. Treatment is £2.05 a night, an investment in your quality of life. You’re only charged if a prescriber approves.
Your treatment journey
This is a treatment, not a quick fix.
Most people give treatment around three months, with a clinician checking along the way.
Week 1
Adjusting
The first few nights can feel like an adjustment. That's normal.
Month 1
Settling in
Nights can start to feel less of a fight.
Month 3
Steadier nights
Sleep takes up less of your day, and you start to feel more like you.
Questions
The things people ask before they start.
The treatment
Is the treatment addictive?
Dependence is one of the first things your prescriber weighs up, and it's part of why we chose this treatment. Whether it's right for you is what the assessment is for.
Will I feel groggy the next morning?
It's designed to be finished by morning: mornings are the point. Some people notice drowsiness in the first few days.
What would I be prescribed?
If you're eligible, you'll see exactly what we'd prescribe, and why, before you create an account or pay anything. You can also read about the treatment we prescribe on our treatments page.
How it works
Who actually reviews my answers?
A UK Independent Prescriber: a named clinician, registered with the GPhC, with no targets and no incentive to approve you. Not an algorithm, not a call centre.
Will I need to speak to anyone?
No. It's an online questionnaire, answered at your own pace. No appointments, no waiting rooms. If your prescriber has any questions, they may give you a call.
How fast is this?
Reviewed within 24 hours of your consultation. Approved treatment is dispatched by our pharmacy by tracked delivery, and you get the tracking number by email the moment it is on its way.
Cost & delivery
How much does it cost?
£65.79 a month, all in: assessment, prescription, 30 days of treatment, tracked delivery. No consultation fee, no repeat fees, no charge at all unless a prescriber approves you. The eligibility check itself is free.
How does it arrive?
By tracked courier, in plain packaging: nothing on the outside says what's inside. We deliver anywhere in the UK.
Your data & your GP
Will my GP be told?
We'll ask your permission. It's good practice and we recommend it. If you'd rather they weren't told, say so, and a prescriber factors that into your assessment. Either way, the decision is made with you, not about you.
Is my data private?
Yes. Health information lives on UK-based systems, is never sold, and is never shared with advertisers. ICO-registered (ZB562076); the full detail is in our privacy policy.
If it's not right
What if I'm not approved?
Your payment hold is released instantly and you'll be told why. If another route is better for you, like your GP or a different form of support, we point you to it. The check costs you nothing either way.
What if it doesn't work for me?
You tell your prescriber, at your monthly review or any time before it. The plan adjusts, or it stops.
Can I stop whenever I want?
Yes. No contract, no cancellation fee, no awkward phone call. When you're ready to stop, your prescriber plans it with you.
